三毒

The three poisons, also styled [lang id =1028]三根; [lang id =1028]三株; they are [lang id =1028]貪 concupiscence, or wrong desire, [lang id =1028]瞋 anger, hate, or resentment, and [lang id =1028]痴 stupidity, ignorance, unintelligence, or unwillingness to accept Buddha-truth; these three are the source of all the passions and delusions. They represent in part the ideas of love, hate, and moral inertia. v. [lang id =1028]智度論 19, 31.

﹝出法界次第﹞ 毒者毒害也。 謂貪瞋癡皆能破壞出世善心， 故名毒也。 〔一、 貪毒〕， 引取之心， 名之為貪。 若以迷心對一切順情之境， 引取無厭， 是名貪毒。 〔二、 瞋毒〕， 忿怒之心， 名之為瞋。 若以迷心對一切違情之境， 便起忿怒， 是名瞋毒。 〔三、 癡毒〕， 迷惑之心， 名之為癡。 若於一切事理之法無所明了， 顛倒妄取， 起諸邪行， 是名癡毒。

貪、 瞋、 痴。 貪是貪愛五欲， 瞋是瞋恚無忍， 痴是愚痴無明， 因貪瞋痴能毒害人們的身命與慧命， 故名三毒。
